Medical Writer
About this Position
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Managing Directors in Toronto to compile, write, and edit medical marketing deliverables throughout the various stages of the engagement lifecycle. The Maven Medical Writer is knowledgeable about current medical literature trends and advancements, will support the development of marketing and advertising materials in a manner that is cognizant of regulations, standards, and guidelines, and will be accountable for acquiring an in-depth understanding of relevant scientific material. This position includes working with the team in the downtown office and the ability to often work from home.
Responsibilities
Comprehensive assessment of product literature/data using previous medical expertise as needed for writing;
Working with senior team members in the agency;
Maintaining a detailed understanding of the constantly evolving media landscape (traditional and online);
Content brainstorming, creation and editing;
Conduct client, industry and product research;
Learning and contributing to company workflow, process and communication methodology.
Requirements
A strong background in Science and/ or the pharmaceutical industry is an asset and is preferred;
Previous experience within a marketing capacity (agency or corporate) is an asset;
1-2 years’ experience within a medical writing/editing position;
Extensive knowledge of English grammar and standard literary practices;
Ability to communicate scientific/medical information clearly and concisely (for HCP and general audiences);
Ability to interpret and present clinical data and other complex information;
Demonstrate the ability to maintain positivity and an open mind when faced with difficult hurdles and challenges.
