Junior Designer
About this Position
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Managing Directors in Toronto to draft and develop new marketing and advertising materials for clients. The Maven Junior Designer will be accountable for having a comprehensive understanding of the brand/product image, creating engaging designs that align with client needs, and maintaining consistent communication with managers regarding capacity, progress, and feedback. This position includes working with the team in the downtown office, occasional client meetings and the ability to often work from home.
Responsibilities
Creating engaging marketing and advertising materials according to client needs
Prioritization of multiple projects in a deadline-sensitive environment;
Maintaining a detailed understanding of the constantly evolving media landscape (traditional and online);
Content brainstorming, creation and editing;
Conduct client, industry and product research;
Learning and contributing to company workflow, process and communication methodology;
Observing, supporting and contributing to the creative and design process;
Requirements
Strong typography skills;
In-depth experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Experience in Adobe After Effects, UI/UX experience, XD/Sketch, Web Design an asset;
Strong time management skills (ability to prioritize multiple projects at once);
Strong communication skills and previous experience in managing relationships with both senior and junior professionals;
Demonstrate the ability to maintain positivity and an open mind when faced with difficult hurdles and challenges;
A strong background in Science and/ or the pharmaceutical industry is an asset;
Previous experience within a marketing capacity (agency or corporate) is an asset;
Previous work experience in the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial mind-set is an asset.
